The author was Germany's ambassador to London from 1912, charged with repairing relations between Great Britain and Germany, & was so remarkably successful (for instance he secured the peace of Europe in the 1912 Conference of Ambassadors) that he was less than popular & viewed with some suspicion in German official circles. These reminiscences very largley concern the period 1912-14 & include details of his Despatches during that time re the Ambassadors' Conference, the Balkan Wars, Baghdad Railway, Liman-Sanders affair, &c. Orig. blue cloth, VG & rather scarce. See illustration on our website.
