Superb photogravure record of the division on the Somme front, many interesting views in trenches & behind the lines at Montauban, Mametz, Longueval &c. Orig. dec. paper covd. boards, covered with clear plastic, VG thus with contemp. pencil ownership inscrip. "Corpl. G.H. Dawson Bullecourt 1918" & another in ink "245043 Cpl. J.H. Dawson 2/5 Batt. Loyal North Lancashire Regt. Germany." Rather interesting in that Cpl. Dawson must have picked it up as a souvenir in Bullecourt soon after it was published in 1918 & left behind - presumably in precipitate retreat - by a member of the 12 Infanterie Division.
