BLICQ (A. Stanley) Norman Ten Hundred: A Record of the 1st (Service) Bn. Royal Guernsey Light Infantry. 1st Ed., orig. dec. wraps., [v]+104pp., 4 sketch maps. The Guernsey Press Ltd. 1920  #70625
[HLMainPic] 1st RGLI served with 29th Div. in France & Flanders 1917-18 inc. ops at Cambrai, Ypres Salient 1918, &c. Author was a member of the bn. & his reminiscences form a major part of the narrative, but it also serves as a useful basic history in the absence of any other,. although underrated by Perkins ("written from memory & in a style favoured by popular journalists of the period. The book contains a number of factual errors. The paper & binding are of poor quality.") this is an atmospheric account of the battalion's experience. Orig. dec. paper covd. boards with red cloth backstrip, VG ex-War Office Lib. & a good clean example of a scarce item.   £145
