Very rare privately printed diary of several months commanding the Devon Yeomanry, fighting as infantry on Gallipoli until evacuated sick, followed by historical note on the regiment from outbreak of war onwards that includes a list of officers landing with the regiment at Gallipoli. Printed on hand-made paper, orig. paper covd. boards with cloth backstrip & paper label. VG & rare. The Hambleden family owned the firm of W.H. Smith & Son, accounting for the book being produced by that firm.
