Orig. printed paper covd. boards with red cloth backstrip, VG with contemp. ink presentation inscrip. from the Corps Commander during the operations described to his superior officer: "To Lieut. Gen. Sir Miles Dempsey. With my best wishes from Bubbles. B.A.O.R. 26 Mar. 1946." Note: 'Bubbles' Barker, Lt.-Gen. Sir Evelyn Barker, KCB, KBE, DSO, MC, commanded 49th (West Riding) Div. in Normandy &c., then VIII Corps from November 1944 to 1946. Later GOC British Forces in Palestine & Tans-Jordan, where he was a controversial & brutal leader & subject to several assassination attempts. Interesting association copy.   £125
