Light-hearted memoir of service as an Air Transport Auxiliary pilot during WW2. The work of the ATA was to deliver aeroplanes from the manufacturers to the RAF - many, including the author, were former RAF pilots who had become unfit for war flying: "the legendary few in the Battle of Britain would have been hard put to do what they did without the still fewer of the A.T.A. who kept up the supply of new aircraft, and never let them down on deliveries." - from the Preface by C.G.
