220 was formed 1918 from 'C' Flight RNAS which had spent the war in reconnaissance, bombing, fleet spotting & anti-submarine patrols in the Med., but disbanded after the armistice. It was reformed in 1936 & employed as convoy escorts, shipping strikes in the North Sea & Norwegian coast (the hunt for the Altmark &c.), protecting the Western Approaches, &c. During WW2 operated Anson, Hudson, Fortress & Liberator aircraft. Much interesting detail. Scarce.
