Very rare, atmospheric personal account by an officer (who had formerly served in the Malay States Volunteers) of training 1914-15 then active service in France from May 1915 with 9th [Scottish] Div. until wounded at Loos in the battalion's attack on Mad Point, serving with 'D' Coy.
