Royston was a colonial who served in the ranks of the Natal Mounted Rifles in the Zulu War, commissioned in the Imperial Light Horse in Boer War (siege of Ladysmith &c), then commanded a contingent of the Western Australian Mounted Infantry. Raised & commanded Natal Light Horse in Zulu Rebellion, 1906, served in German South-West Africa 1914-15 & commanded 12th Light Horse Regiment and 2nd Light Horse Brigade in Palestine, 1916-Oct. 1917. Orig. blue cloth, gilt, minor wear, VG, rare. £65
