Apart from Mottram's introduction & the plate listings the entire work comprises the Hungarian artist Szuts' drawings, many being character studies, drawings of hospital wards &c., on the Eastern Front. Mottram says "the distinctive Hungarian uniforms & landscapes, & the artist's private feelings soon fade way into scenes that were common to two hemispheres, & emotions that were shared by millions..." Orig. grey/green cloth, titled in black. VG in worn but scarce dw (sp. damaged/holed/torn, generally intact) & a fine contribution to the published art of the war. Rare in dw.
