Slightly smoky o/w good, clean & bright set of one of the key authoritative works on the Boer War, complete with index volume. Vol. III contained a misattributed portrait Of Maj.-Gen. Fitzroy Hart, so the publishers sent out replacements to subscribers of the book. The replacement plate has been tipped-in in the correct place in this set, with the original, mistaken identity, plate, remaining loosely inserted at the end. Orig. red cloth, gilt, VG.
