An excellent selection of first-hand accounts, being the best of some 300 pieces submitted to a competition run by "Everyman" magazine, mainly Western Front, also Gallipoli, Macedonia &c., & very largely otherwise unpublished. Includes three pieces on Gallipoli: "A Boy at Gallipoli" by Fred T. Wilson (an eighteen-year-old's account of service on the Peninsula with 1/6th Manchester Regt. [TF]); "The Flood at Suvla Bay" by F.W.D. Bendall (commanding 2/3rd Bn. The London Regt. [TF]) & "The Evacuation of Suvla Bay" by W.H. Lench (with 1st Newfoundland Regt., attd. 29th Div.).
