A contemp. review (not present with this copy) stated: "Its activities included all ordinary branches of infantry training, but also special duties of a delicate nature in connection with registration of visitors & the guarding of the docks. All these are described; with much quiet drollery, not a few touches of pathos & deep feeling, & an adroit insinuation of interesting detail..." Orig. brown paper covd. boards with wheat cloth backstrip, VG & scarce. See illustration on our website.
