A Short History of the 1st King's Dragoon Guards from the Regimental Records, Army Despatches & Othe Papers Connected with The History of the Regiment from its Formation in 1685 to 1929. 1st Ed., orig. dec. card wraps., 66pp., portrait frontis. Aldershot: G&P. 1931  #64214
[HLMainPic] The 1st KDG did not publish a WW1 history so this work has value for its concise but informative account of the regiment's services in France & Flanders with the Lucknow Cavalry Brigade 1914-17, with much on 1915. The regiment returned to Meerut at the end of 1917 & participated in the 3rd Afghan War 1919. Appendices include a statement of "Dates & Places in Which The Regiment was Billeted, Camped, Bivouacked, or In Trenches, From November 12th, 1914, up to October 26th, 1917" also a Great War Roll of Hon. (listing those killed & wounded), WW1 awards roll, plus similar listings for Afghan War 1919. Little chipped, VG ex-IWM with minor stamps inc. 'Withdrawn' stamp inside rear cover. Uncommon. See illustration on our website.   £45
