Publication commenced at Troon early in 1915, continued at other training camps in the UK then On Active Service in France & Flanders from the end of the year & on thoughout the war. Printed for the battalion throughout its existence by David J. Clark, Glasgow with different & very appealing cover design for each volume. The orig. wraps. are not bound-in in this set of the first five volumes (of seven in all), but the volumes here offered are magnificently bound in full red morocco, gilt spines with raised bands, being a run from No. 1, February 1915-October 1917 in quite superb state throughout, evidently personally bound for a senior officer or dignitary, & housed together in a fitted cloth case, with interior to match the marbled end-papers of the volumes. The exterior of the box is stained, however the volumes are all fine & this outstanding set is offered together with a clothbound copy of Volume VII (the final volume) & two original paper-bound issues from Vol. VI.
